Hurribomber BE505 returns to the air

BE505, or G-HHII, is a Hurricane IIB, built in Canada by the Canada Car and Foundry Co Ltd. and served as '5403' with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945. Sold off in June 1947 she was rediscovered in the 1990s by Hawker Restorations Ltd. and they transported her to the UK. Peter Teichman bought her in 2005 and HRL have restored her to flying condition as you'll see from these photos. She's now based at North Weald with the rest of Peter's Hangar 11 Collection and should be on the airshow circuit this year. Unlike most other restored Hurricanes, BE505 is a 'Hurribomber' with underwing pylons to carry 250lb bombs, and a fearsome armament fit of 4 cannon and 6 machine guns.
